Ross Summer

Ross Summer serves as Ludwig A Kind Professor of Medicine and Director of the ILD Program at Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Department of Medicine, based in Philadelphia, PA.

His research laboratory investigates molecular and cellular mechanisms of pulmonary injury and repair, focusing on cellular signaling pathways in epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and alveolar macrophages. Key research areas include how genetic predisposition, aging, and environmental exposures impact lung metabolic adaptation following acute insults or chronic stressors, with direct clinical translation for pulmonary fibrosis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
