Ross Campbell is a Senior Lecturer in Political Science at the University of the West of Scotland's School of Education and Social Sciences. His research focuses on political behavior, mass attitudes towards democracy, and party politics in Germany, as well as social capital and public opinion dynamics.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Strathclyde (2007) and served as a post-doctoral fellow at the WZB Social Science Center Berlin (2007-2008). His work has appeared in European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics, and German Politics.
Recent research output includes analyses of political disaffection in Germany, trust in democratic institutions post-unification, and the impact of the AfD on consensus politics. His 2023 publications address the 2021 German Federal Election, institutional trust during the pandemic, and veterans' support systems in Scotland.
