Ross Brewin is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Monash University, co-director of Gilby Brewin Architecture, and a registered architect. He helped establish the Department of Architecture in 2008 and has led design teaching across all course levels. His academic roles include Master of Architecture course director and current leadership of the Design Make education stream, focusing on live design and fabrication projects with communities.
- Education: Master of Architecture (Research) from RMIT University (2007), Bachelor of Architecture and Applied Science from Curtin University (2000/1999).
Research focuses on adaptive housing retrofit for special needs and post-industrial landscape regeneration. He contributes to the Monash Urban Lab’s 'Better Life at Home' initiative and leads projects like Triabunna Tomorrow. His practice has won awards including the 2023 John Lee Archer Triennial Prize.
Key awards include recognition for unbuilt work (2008), residential design (2014, 2019), and sustainability (2019). He collaborates on projects such as the A$4 million Homes NSW initiative through the Future Building Initiative.
