Roshni Narendran is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, University of Tasmania. She is actively engaged in research, teaching, and leadership, with a strong focus on gender, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion. Her roles include Deputy Discipline Leader (Management) and Academic Integrity Advisor, and she serves as the unit coordinator for Fundamentals of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Her research centers on gender and entrepreneurship, particularly the challenges faced by women and transgender entrepreneurs in India. She investigates institutional constraints, caste dynamics, and the impact of policy, with a growing focus on transgender entrepreneurs in Kerala. Her funded projects include research on financial literacy and transgender entrepreneurship, supported by the University of Wollongong and the Australian Institute of Business.
Roshni’s recent publications span topics such as transgender identity work, female entrepreneurship in patriarchal societies, AI in leadership, and social legitimacy. Her work appears in journals like Gender, Work and Organization, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, and Journal of Managerial Psychology, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement across entrepreneurship, gender studies, and public policy.

Roshni supervises three doctoral students researching migrant women entrepreneurs, behavioral nudges for youth entrepreneurship, and digital adoption in startups. She has taught a wide range of courses including entrepreneurship, strategic management, and cross-cultural leadership, both online and on-campus, across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is also involved in curriculum development, notably through the Applied Employment Skills Package.
