Rosemary Oram is a Research Assistant and PhD candidate at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the SORD (Social Research with Deaf People) group within the Division of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work. Her doctoral research, funded by the ESRC, examines parenting assessments involving Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) users in safeguarding contexts. Supervised by Prof. Alys Young and Dr. Patricia Cartney, her work emphasizes cultural competence and asset-based approaches in social work.
