Dr Rosemary Gibson is a Lecturer at the TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland, specializing in Contract Law, Maritime Law, Private International Law, and Insurance Law. She holds a PhD from UQ (2023) and has extensive experience as a commercial litigator, particularly in maritime disputes. Dr Gibson previously practiced law with a focus on shipping & transport litigation, including the prominent Shen Neng 1 case (2016). She has also served as an Associate to Queensland Court of Appeal Justice Chesterman. Her research examines intersections between traditional legal principles and modern technological challenges, with notable work on cruise passenger contracts and commercial contract termination. Dr Gibson has received the 2015 Dean’s Honour Roll Award for Academic Excellence in Law.
