Professor Rosemarie Zagarri is a leading scholar in Early American history at George Mason University, specializing in transatlantic and global perspectives, women's political roles, and constitutional development. Her work bridges the American Revolution with broader Atlantic and imperial contexts.
Research Focus: She explores intersections of liberty and oppression in the early republic, gender dynamics in revolutionary politics, and the global implications of American nation-building. Her current book project revisits Thomas Law's colonial experiences in British India and the U.S.
