Jonathan Sassi is a Professor at the College of Staten Island (CUNY) and faculty member in the CUNY Graduate School’s Ph.D. Program in History. His research focuses on Revolutionary America and the early republic, particularly intersections of religion, politics, and antislavery reform (1740–1840). He has held archival fellowships at the American Antiquarian Society, Library Company of Philadelphia, and other institutions.

He serves on the Society for Historians of the Early American Republic (SHEAR).
