Rosemarie McGoldrick

Rosemarie McGoldrick is an Associate Teaching Professor in Fine Art at the Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University, and a renowned London-based sculptor and installation artist. She has taught since 1995 and currently leads the Fine Art MFA program. Her academic training includes studies at Middlesex, Chelsea, and Goldsmiths universities.

Her research explores interdisciplinary intersections between art and animal studies, emphasizing how contemporary art critically engages with animal-human relations. She has curated major exhibitions like The Animal Gaze (2008) and The Animal Gaze Returned (2011), and edited a special animal-themed issue of Journal of Visual Art Practice (2011). She is affiliated with the British Animal Studies Network and Antennae journal's editorial board.

Her work also bridges art and geomorphology, exemplified by her residency Stonechat and the colloquium Making the Stone Stony (2013), which fostered collaborations between artists and geologists. Her installations and sculptures, such as Techniques of the Bird Observer (2007) and Subbuteo Subbuteo, reflect themes of site-specificity and ecological awareness.
