Jacqueline's work primarily focuses on installation and sculpture, with investigations into the visual and conceptual negotiation of space. Her practice explores the interaction between viewer and artwork, particularly in her interactive series 'Space for Children.' She examines how spatial arrangements affect perception and experience, often using reflective materials and site-specific installations to challenge conventional understandings of space. Her artistic approach blends conceptual rigor with physical engagement, creating works that invite viewers to reconsider their relationship with the environments they inhabit.
Her publications and exhibitions demonstrate a consistent exploration of spatial dynamics across diverse contexts, from urban settings to natural environments. The works show progression from gallery-based installations to more public and interactive pieces, reflecting an evolving interest in how art can engage with broader audiences and contexts. Her writing often focuses on narrative structures within spatial experiences and the philosophical implications of perception.
Scientific Awards:
- Best Set of the Year Award for 'The Fall of Lucas Fortune' for the Insomniac Theatre Company (1990)
Jacqueline has curated exhibitions, including 'Species of Spaces' in 2002, and has been involved in various collaborative projects. Her professional activities extend beyond traditional academic roles to include performance (with the Matthew Collins' band Interspecies Love Child and The Kreutzer Quintet) and multimedia projects like a video anthology for the National Danish Film Board. Her work bridges academic practice with real-world artistic engagement.
Her studio practice is deeply integrated with her teaching, creating a dynamic exchange between her professional artistic development and pedagogical approach. She has developed specific projects that engage students in the exploration of spatial concepts and installation practices, fostering a hands-on learning environment that reflects her own artistic methodology.
