Rose Grose, PhD is an Associate Professor at the Colorado School of Public Health, University of Northern Colorado, with expertise in human sexuality, LGBTQ studies, and global women’s health equity. Her research focuses on gender-based violence, health policy, and social determinants of health, particularly among marginalized populations in low-income and transitional settings.

Her research explores sexual empowerment processes, the impact of gender-based violence on reproductive health, and LGBTQ+ youth health equity. She has led studies on female genital mutilation/cutting in Kenya and Egypt, HIV policy advocacy, and mindfulness interventions for transgender adolescents. Her work spans low- and middle-income countries, emphasizing structural inequities and community-driven solutions.
Her publications highlight violence against women and its links to STIs/HIV, unplanned pregnancies, and contraception barriers. She has also contributed to sociocultural analyses of menstruation and relationship power dynamics in domestic violence.
