Rose Constantino, an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, specializes in mental health and forensic nursing. Her research focuses on the HEARTS framework (Health, End Abuse, Resilience, Technology, and Social Support) for older adults, particularly addressing resilience-building in trauma survivors, including those affected by Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). She integrates her dual expertise in nursing and law into her teaching and research.
Research Interests: Her work explores mental health nursing, IPV dynamics, gerontological care, and the application of technology and social support systems to enhance healthspan and resilience in mid- to older adults. She emphasizes community engagement to understand trauma recovery from diverse perspectives.
Teaching: Dr. Constantino teaches NUR 2820: Forensic Nursing to BSN, DNP, and PhD students. She has also developed graduate courses on the Philosophy of Science, Global Health Paradigms, Interprofessional Collaboration, and Transcultural Nursing at multiple universities.
Service & Leadership: She is an elected member of the Campus Utilization, Planning, and Safety (CUPS) Senate Committee and has chaired the Athletics Committee, served as Secretary/Vice President of the University Senate, and co-chaired the Tenure and Academic Freedom Committee.
