Rosalind Galt is Professor of Film Studies at King’s College London, specializing in transnational cinema and decolonial aesthetics. She holds a PhD in Modern Culture and Media from Brown University (2002) and an MA in Film and Television Studies from the University of Glasgow (1993). Previously taught at University of Sussex and University of Iowa.
Her research examines world cinema through queer and feminist frameworks, with particular focus on Southeast Asian horror, European art cinema, and postcolonial visual politics. Current projects analyze cinematic representations of gender and decolonization through figures like the Pontianak vampire.
Awards include
