معرفی
Rosalie Lawrence, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles. She is also affiliated with the Brain Research Institute, where she collaborates with diverse researchers to study neurodegenerative diseases.
Her research focuses on understanding how cellular stress remodels metabolism, particularly in the context of neurodegenerative diseases. She investigates the Integrated Stress Response (ISR) and its role in conditions such as Vanishing White Matter Disease and Down syndrome pathology. Her work combines cell biology, structural biology, and biochemical approaches to model chronic ISR signaling states.
Dr. Lawrence received her graduate training under Roberto Zoncu, where she studied amino acid-dependent mTORC1 recruitment to lysosomes and discovered the Lysosomal Folliculin Complex. During her postdoctoral fellowship in Peter Walter's lab, she elucidated the allosteric mechanism activating the ISR. Currently, her lab uses structure-guided engineering to generate chronic-ISR iPSCs for studying disease-associated cell types.
