Rory Van Loo is a Professor of Law and Michaels Faculty Research Scholar at Boston University School of Law, specializing in consumer law, digital markets, and regulatory frameworks. He holds a BA from Pomona College, JD from Harvard Law School, and PhD from Yale University. His research explores how technological shifts reshape consumer regulation, with a focus on digital intermediaries and tech governance. He served on the implementation team for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and previously worked at McKinsey & Co. His work has influenced policy initiatives like the FTC’s data privacy reforms and CFPB’s data-sharing rules.
