Rongjin Sun is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. His research focuses on drug-induced toxicity mechanisms, pharmacokinetic modeling, and the role of transporters and enzymes in drug bioavailability.
- PhD, Pharmacology, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine
- Master of Pharmacy, Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Bachelor in Pharmacy, Hubei University of Medicine
His work explores strategies to mitigate drug toxicity through PK/PD modeling, gut microbiota regulation, and transporter modulation. Recent publications highlight his studies on herbal adjuvants for chemotherapy side effects and diterpenoid pharmacology.
Key publication trends include natural product interactions with drug metabolism pathways, LC-MS/MS method development for pharmacokinetic analysis, and the impact of gut enzyme activity on anti-cancer therapies.
- Outstanding Teacher, Hubei University of Medicine (2014)
- City Scientific and Technological Progress Award, Shiyan, China (2013)
- Teaching Excellence Award, Hubei University of Medicine (2012)
