معرفی
Rong Kou is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University and Director of Lyle Lab Operations and Safety Department. She holds a B.S. from Tsinghua University, M.S. from Arizona State University, and Ph.D. from Tulane University, all in Chemical Engineering. Her postdoctoral work at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory focused on fuel cell catalysts, followed by industry experience in energy materials commercialization.
Her research emphasizes material characterization for energy storage technologies, including battery materials, electrodes, and cells. She collaborates with Penn State’s Battery and Energy Storage Technology Center, employing advanced characterization techniques to understand battery mechanisms. Key interests include fuel cell catalysts, battery safety, and failure mechanisms.
Prof. Kou has authored/co-authored 20 peer-reviewed publications with 5,311 citations (H-index 20) and led multiple state/federally funded projects on energy storage. Recent work focuses on lithium-metal and solid-state batteries, zinc-ion systems, and electrolyte optimization.
