Ronald Masulis is the Scientia Professor of Finance at the UNSW Business School, University of New South Wales, with a distinguished career spanning empirical corporate finance, corporate governance, and mergers & acquisitions. He earned his PhD and MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA (High Hons) from Northeastern University.

As a Research Associate at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and Senior Academic Fellow at the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), Masulis has influenced global finance through his research on board structures, executive compensation, and business group dynamics. His work frequently appears in top journals like the Journal of Financial Economics and the Journal of Finance, earning him five All Star Paper Awards from the Journal of Financial Economics.
He has held editorial roles at the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and the Journal of Multinational Financial Management. Masulis supervised PhD candidates Jinzhao Du and June Chan and taught advanced courses in empirical corporate governance and finance research practices.
