معرفی
Ronald Levy is the Robert K. and Helen K. Summy Professor in the School of Medicine at Stanford University, where he serves as Professor in the Department of Medicine - Oncology. He is also a member of Stanford Bio-X and the Stanford Cancer Institute, reflecting his interdisciplinary contributions to biomedical research and oncology.
Education:
- AB in Biochemistry, Harvard University (1963)
- MD, Stanford University School of Medicine (1968)
- Internship and Residency, Massachusetts General Hospital (1969–1970)
- Fellowship, Stanford University School of Medicine (1973)
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology
Research Interests: Dr. Levy's research focuses on malignant lymphoma and tumors of the immune system, integrating immunology and molecular biology to understand cancer initiation and progression. His lab investigates antigen receptors on tumor cells, develops monoclonal antibody therapies, and pioneers in situ cancer vaccination strategies. His work aims to harness the immune system to target B-cell and T-cell tumors through receptor signaling and immune activation.
Recent Research Trends: His most recent publications highlight groundbreaking work in in situ CAR-T cell engineering, PET imaging of engineered immune cells, OX40 agonist trials, and the role of glycosylation motifs in B-cell receptor signaling. These studies reflect a strong trend toward translational immunotherapy, combining nanotechnology, molecular imaging, and clinical trials to advance lymphoma treatment.
Scientific Awards:
- Karnofsky Award, ASCO (1999)
- Charles Kettering Prize (1999)
- Medal of Honor, American Cancer Society (2000)
- Damashek Prize, ASH (2004)
- di Villiers International Achievement Award (2007)
- Member, Institute of Medicine (2007)
- Member, National Academy of Sciences (2008)
- King Faisal International Prize (2009)
Advising and Grants: Dr. Levy mentors doctoral students in the Cancer Biology and Immunology PhD programs at Stanford. He leads multiple clinical trials funded by Stanford and collaborates with investigators such as Richard Hoppe, Ash Alizadeh, and Michael Khodadoust. His research is supported by institutional and federal grants, focusing on novel immunotherapies for lymphoma.
Laboratories and Teams: He leads the Ronald Levy Lab at Stanford, which integrates molecular biology, immunology, and clinical research. His team includes researchers working on CAR-T cell delivery, tumor microenvironment analysis, and single-cell genomics, contributing to a collaborative environment at the Stanford Cancer Institute.
