Bryon D. Johnson

Bryon D. Johnson is a Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, affiliated with the Department of Microbiology & Immunology and the School of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology/BMT). His research focuses on cancer immunology and immunotherapy, particularly combining immune checkpoint blockade, adoptive T-cell transfer, and metabolic inhibitors to enhance cancer treatment.

• Education: PhD in Immunology (1989) from Rosalind Franklin University, BS in Microbiology (1983) from Iowa State University.

His recent work explores CAR T-cell therapy for B-cell malignancies, gene therapy for hemophilia, and in-situ vaccination strategies for tumor prevention. He has led clinical trials in multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma.

Johnson collaborates extensively in hematopoietic cell transplantation research and investigates socioeconomic disparities in immunotherapy outcomes.
