RonNell Andersen Jones is Lee E. Teitelbaum Professor of Law at the University of Utah and Distinguished Professor specializing in First Amendment issues affecting press freedom and Supreme Court-press relations. An Affiliated Fellow at Yale's Information Society Project and Senior Visiting Research Fellow at Columbia's Knight First Amendment Institute, she researches constitutional protections for press functions in evolving media landscapes.
Her scholarship examines defamation law in digital environments, judicial characterizations of the press, and the media's role as a governmental check. Recent work analyzes disinformation governance and the Sullivan standard's applicability in networked communication systems.
