Ron H. Walker, Ed.D., LAT, ATC, CSCS, holds multiple leadership roles at The University of Tulsa, including Clinical Professor of Athletic Training, Associate Dean for Administration in the Oxley College of Health Sciences, and Interim Chair of the Department of Kinesiology & Rehabilitative Sciences. His career spans over 25 years in education, mentorship, and athletic training leadership.
- Education: Ed.D. from Oklahoma State University, M.A. and B.S. in Athletic Training from The University of Tulsa.
Research interests include Athletic Injury, Leadership Development, Youth Sports Policy, Community Health, and Clinical Education. He has pioneered academic programs such as the Master of Athletic Training at UTulsa and the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
His national service includes leadership roles in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the Board of Certification (BOC), with awards like the NATA’s Most Distinguished AT Award (2015) and induction into two Hall of Fame institutions.
- 2024: Dan Libera Service Award, Mr. Homecoming at UTulsa, Faculty of the Year for Sorority & Fraternity Life.
- 2023: Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame.
