Ericka Zimmerman

Ericka Zimmerman is a Professor and Director of the School of Health Sciences at Western Carolina University. She holds positions within the College of Health and Human Sciences, overseeing athletic training and health professions education. Her academic journey includes an EDD in Leadership Studies from Marshall University, an MS in Physical Education/Athletic Training from Indiana State University, and a BA from St Andrews Presbyterian College.

Her research focuses on administration in athletic training/health professions and risk management policies. She previously served as an Associate Professor and Program Director of Athletic Training at the University of Charleston, where she chaired the Department of Athletic Training. Her clinical experience includes work with the NAIA to develop the NAIA-ATA Sports Medicine Handbook.
