Ron Emoff is a Professor of Music and Anthropology at The Ohio State University Newark. He holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from the University of Texas at Austin, with additional focus on anthropology and critical theory. His research explores music's role in memory, spirituality, identity, and postcolonial dynamics through ethnographic studies in Madagascar, Southwest Louisiana, and the French Antilles.
