Ron E. Samet

Dr. Ron E. Samet is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Chief of Trauma Anesthesia at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. He directs the Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship and holds adjunct positions at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and School of Bioengineering.

His work addresses opioid reduction, medical device innovation, and training non-anesthesiologists in airway management.

Recent publications highlight his expertise in hip fracture outcomes, pediatric trauma blocks, and opioid-minimizing protocols. He also explores educational frameworks for airway training and the role of point-of-care ultrasound in critical care settings.
