Elie Chidiac, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and Affiliate Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He practices clinically with Botsford Anesthesiologists, P.C. in Farmington Hills, Michigan, while contributing to academic training and research in regional anesthesia techniques.

Dr. Chidiac’s scholarly work centers on improving peri-operative pain control through advanced regional anesthesia. His investigations encompass ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks for both upper- and lower-extremity procedures, as well as the development and refinement of continuous peripheral nerve block systems that employ indwelling catheters paired with disposable ambulatory pumps. These efforts aim to enhance patient recovery, reduce opioid consumption, and facilitate same-day discharge after orthopedic and trauma surgeries.

In addition to his university affiliation, he provides specialized anesthesia services at Botsford Hospital, supervises residents and fellows during regional anesthesia rotations, and lectures on nerve-block anatomy and ultrasound techniques within the Wayne State curriculum.
