Romy Peschl is a Researcher in the Department of Law at the European University Institute (EUI), part of the 2024 cohort. Her work focuses on international law, human rights, and feminist legal theory, particularly in the context of armed conflict.
Her research interests include:
- Public international law
- International human rights law
- Gender equality
- Humanitarian law and international humanitarian law
- Feminist legal study
Romy is currently working on her thesis titled Taking a feminist lens to international humanitarian law: Re-centring the individual in the law of armed conflict, under the supervision of Professor Silvia Suteu. She is affiliated with the Human and Fundamental Rights Working Group at EUI, contributing to scholarly discussions on fundamental rights and gender justice in international law. While no publications or awards are currently listed, her research trajectory emphasizes critical perspectives on the gendered dimensions of international legal frameworks, especially in times of conflict.
