GUICHARROUSSE specializes in Classical and Hellenistic Greek history with particular focus on Athens. His research explores social history and microhistory, examining social groups (including foreigners) at sub-civic levels. He has conducted extensive research on Piraeus' visual and sensory landscapes and their construction by inhabitants. His work combines literary, epigraphic, and archaeological sources to provide nuanced understandings of ancient Greek society.
His publication portfolio reveals consistent focus on foreigners' integration in Athenian society, challenging traditional citizen/non-citizen dichotomies. His research demonstrates how foreigners participated in religious associations, public processions, and community formation, suggesting a more complex social reality. His methodology blends microhistory with sociological insights to examine community dynamics in ancient contexts.
GUICHARROUSSE received the 2019 Henri Hertz Prize from the Chancellery of the Universities of Paris for his doctoral thesis 'Tὸ κοινὸν τῶν οἰκούντων. Foreigners within the Athenian community (5th - 3rd centuries BC).'
Academic responsibilities include:
- Past President of Association Les Argonautes (2012-2014)

- Member of CAPES history-geography jury (2017-2020)
- Member of ENS Ulm entrance exam jury (2025)
- Co-coordinator of Eurykleia research project (2023-...)
- Project leader of Sorb'Rising Tuteury (2026-2028)
