Roland Vamos serves as Artist Faculty in Viola at the Music Conservatory of the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University, where he maintains an active career as performer, conductor, and educator.

- Studied with Oscar Shumsky and William Lincer
His expertise spans Viola Performance, Chamber Music, Orchestral Conducting, and Music Education. Dr. Vamos has presented master classes worldwide, co-founded the Weathersfield Music Festival (1993), and developed pedagogical approaches influencing generations of string players through Suzuki Pedagogy and competition preparation.

As a mentor, Dr. Vamos has guided students to win top prizes at the Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Queen Elizabeth, Paganini, and Menuhin competitions. He serves on international competition juries and maintains dual teaching roles at the Music Institute of Chicago (30+ years) and Chautauqua Summer Music Institute.
Dr. Vamos performs globally as soloist and conductor with ensembles including the Contemporary String Quartet and Morningside Trio, appearing across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. His career integrates performance, festival direction, and educational leadership within the classical music ecosystem.
