Professor Roland Kallenborn holds the UArctic Chair in Arctic Environmental Pollution Research at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). He specializes in organic analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, and risk assessment, focusing on pollutants in pristine and contaminated environments including the Arctic. His research integrates modern trace analytical methods with interdisciplinary collaboration across chemistry, biology, toxicology, and physics.
- Lead of UArctic Thematic Network on Sustainable Strategies for Waste Removal and Restoration of Arctic Mine Waste Areas (RAMWA)
- Member of UArctic Thematic Network on POPs and Chemicals of Emerging Concern in the Asian Arctic
His work addresses legacy and emerging anthropogenic pollutants, with a publication record exceeding 120 peer-reviewed articles and 300 international presentations. He serves on editorial boards for journals such as Chemosphere and Environmental Science and Pollution Research.
