Professor Roisín Coll is a Professor of Catholic Education at the University of Glasgow and Director of the St Andrew’s Foundation for Catholic Teacher Education. She leads teacher training programs for Scotland’s Catholic schools, collaborating with the Scottish Government, General Teaching Council of Scotland, and Bishops’ Conference of Scotland. Her research focuses on faith development in teachers, inclusive education, LGBTQ+ inclusion in Catholic schools, and comparative education systems.
Her academic roles include leading seven courses related to Catholic teacher certification and contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate education programs. She has held positions such as BEd Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer in Creativity, Culture and Faith. Her work bridges academic research and practical application, frequently engaging with school educators through keynotes and workshops.
Key research areas include Religious Education pedagogy, faith-school governance, prayer in education, and sectarianism in education systems. Her articles and books address Catholic school leadership, teacher professional development, and curriculum implementation. She serves as an external examiner for Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University.
