Angela Curley is a Lecturer in Teacher Education at the University of Glasgow’s School of Education, joining in September 2023. She is part of the Pedagogy, Praxis and Faith Teaching Group. Her work emphasizes supporting educators and improving curricula in secondary settings. Angela holds a MA (Soc Sci) from the University of Glasgow and a PGCE in Modern Studies from St. Andrew’s College of Education, complemented by additional qualifications in Geography and Pastoral Care.
Her research interests include improving outcomes for middle learners, integrating workforce development into teacher training, trauma-informed practices in education, and curriculum tracking in social studies. Recent publications explore professional learning in teacher education and challenges in Scotland’s Broad General Education (BGE).
Angela advises students in the MEduc1 programme, supervises Year 5 MEduc students, and teaches courses in curriculum pedagogy and citizenship. She also serves as an SQA marker for National 5 Modern Studies and is affiliated with the Scottish Guidance Teachers Association and COSCA.
