Jo Gallagher is a Lecturer in Teacher Education at the University of Glasgow's School of Education, specializing in pedagogy, praxis, and faith. She leads the fourth-year MEduc programme Education in Practice and serves as Subject Lead for Expressive Arts. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and practicing fine artist, her work integrates photography, print, and moving image.

She also investigates learner pathways in arts curricula and strategies for widening access to higher education.
Jo is affiliated with professional organizations including the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), British Educational Research Association (BERA), and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). With over a decade of experience in primary and secondary arts education across state and independent schools, she has held roles such as Associate Tutor, Regent, Principal Teacher, and Outreach Tutor at Glasgow School of Art.
