Roger Paul is a Visiting Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Maine, affiliated with the Native American Programs department. He works closely with the Penobscot Nation and other Indigenous communities in Maine and New Brunswick. Born on the Motahkomikuk Indian Reservation, Paul’s career spans roles as a cultural director, teacher, counselor, and consultant, focusing on preserving Wabanaki language and culture.
Education: Bachelors in Sociology from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Research Interests: Paul’s work emphasizes bridging public understanding of Indigenous peoples through education, with a focus on Wabanaki heritage, language revitalization, and cultural continuity. He advocates for the vital role of Indigenous communities in regional and global contexts.
Current Affiliations: Active with the Wabanaki Center, Native American Waiver and Education Program, and multiple First Nations tribes including Passamaquoddy, Maliseet, and Tobique.
