Roger Kollock, Ph.D., ATC, CSCS, is an Associate Professor of Athletic Training and Exercise Sports and Director of the Exercise and Sports Science Program at The University of Tulsa's Oxley College of Health Sciences. He leads the Biomechanics Research Laboratory, focusing on injury risk reduction and performance optimization in athletes, firefighters, and military personnel. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Human Movement Science from Old Dominion University, an M.A. from East Tennessee State University, and a B.S. from Gardner-Webb University.
Dr. Kollock's research integrates biomechanics, occupational health, and sports medicine, with emphases on:
- Neuromuscular adaptations during load carriage in tactical populations
- Effects of protective equipment on functional performance
- Age and sex differences in movement stability
- Physiological responses to occupational stressors
His publication trends (2021-2025) demonstrate concentrated focus on:
- Firefighter biomechanics (60% of recent works)
- Occupational load effects on postural control
- Protective equipment limitations
- Age/sex-specific performance analysis
- Integration of field-based assessment methods
Honors include:
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion Award (2022-2023)
- Three-time TU Athletics MVP Professor (2020, 2021, 2023)
- Oxley College Outstanding Research Award (2018, 2021)
- Excellence in Teaching nominations (2017, 2021)
As lab director, he develops evidence-based protocols for tactical athletes and oversees graduate research in sports science.
