Roger F. Suclupe is a Clinical Associate Professor and BSW Program Director in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He holds an MSW from UNC Chapel Hill (2002) and a BA in Psychology from Appalachian State University (1996). With over 23 years in clinical practice and academia, his expertise spans child trauma, Latinx mental health equity, grief therapy, and community-based participatory research. He has led initiatives like the Hola Neighbor Program for Latinx communities and contributed to urbanCORE's efforts for social mobility in marginalized groups.
His research focuses on cultural inclusion in social work, holistic community wellness, and Latinx access to mental health services. He has received multiple Chancellor’s Diversity Grants and awards for teaching and diversity advocacy. Dr. Suclupe actively serves on boards like Mental Health America and Thompson Child and Family Focus, and co-hosts the Common Good Data Podcast on social change.
