Roger Daniel Schultz is the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and Professor of History at Liberty University. He has held academic positions at Virginia Intermont College, the University of Arkansas, and Oak Hills Christian College prior to joining LU in 2002. His research focuses on American religious history, particularly American fundamentalism, and the intersection of religion and culture. He previously chaired Liberty University's History Department until 2007.
His scholarly interests include Christians in the American Revolution, biblical governance principles, and the legacy of religious movements. Schultz has published in outlets like World Magazine, Fides et Historia, and The Ozark Historical Review. His 1989 paper on Harry Rimmer examines the evolution of fundamentalist thought.

Outside academia, Schultz is an active speaker at church conferences addressing topics like 'Biblical Creationism' and 'America’s Christian Heritage.' He has nine children, four of whom are Liberty University alumni. A Minnesota native, he enjoys outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and storytelling about his Boundary Waters Wilderness canoe guiding experiences.
