Rodney Stewart, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncological Sciences at the University of Utah and an investigator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). He leads the Stewart Lab, which focuses on identifying genetic mechanisms and drugs that impact pediatric cancers of the nervous system, particularly neuroblastoma and brain tumors.

Education:
- PhD, Yale University
- BSc (Hons), University of Melbourne
Stewart's research combines embryology and cancer biology using zebrafish models and human cell cultures to explore how developmental genetic programs are reactivated in cancer metastasis. His work targets epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), neural crest development, and genetic pathways to discover conserved therapeutic targets for pediatric cancers.
Publication trends highlight his focus on zebrafish models, neuroblastoma, EMT inhibition, and drug screening for metastatic disease. Current projects include identifying Foxd3 target genes, generating new pediatric tumor models, and testing anti-metastatic drugs in zebrafish systems.
