Rod Wing is a Regents Professor in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Arizona and a leading figure at the Arizona Genomics Institute (AGI). AGI specializes in high-quality nucleic acid extraction and advanced genomics research, including large-scale genome sequencing projects for rice, maize, and other species.
AGI, founded in 2002, has played a pivotal role in sequencing rice chromosomes 3 and 10 as part of the International Rice Genome Sequencing Project (IRGSP). The institute continues to innovate through its Service Center, which operates cutting-edge technologies like the Revio platform and provides fee-for-service genomic support.
