Robin Walker is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London. His research focuses on saccadic eye movements, neuroimaging (fMRI), and the neural basis of visual cognition. He develops dynamic text formats to assist individuals with visual impairments, such as the MD_evReader and EV News apps, recognized by Universities UK and supported by Dame Judi Dench. His work bridges basic neuroscience and applied solutions for macular degeneration, funded by the Leverhulme Trust and the Macular Society.
Research Interests:
- Eye movement control and cortical-subcortical brain networks
- FMRI studies of superior colliculus function
- Dynamic text adaptation for eccentric viewing techniques
- Clinical applications for age-related vision loss
Projects:
- Evaluating therapies for Charles Bonnet Syndrome (Macular Society, 2022-2024)
- Midbrain response preparation (Leverhulme Trust, 2013-2016)
