Dr. Robin Steedman is a Lecturer in Creative Industries at the University of Glasgow's School of Culture & Creative Arts. Her research focuses on global creative industries, diversity in media production, and African cinema with particular emphasis on Kenya and Ghana. She holds a PhD from SOAS University of London and has prior experience as a Creative Economy Engagement Fellow at the University of Sheffield and a postdoc at Copenhagen Business School.

- Cultural economics of African film
- Gender dynamics in creative work
- Transnational media circulation
Her recent publications explore Ghanaian theatre economies, female film entrepreneurship, and mutual aid practices in creative work. She is the author of Creative Hustling: Women Making and Distributing Films from Nairobi (MIT Press, 2023).
