Robin Lewis

Dr. Robin Lewis is a Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University's School of Health and Social Care, affiliated with the Health Research Institute. Her research focuses on primary care workforce education, new roles development, and workforce organization models. She leads a £4.4M NIHR-funded project addressing primary care workforce challenges in deprived areas and collaborates with NHS England and South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. Dr. Lewis co-develops innovative training methods using VR/AI for healthcare professionals and supervises PhD students on topics like case management and HIV-related loneliness. She publishes in nursing journals and contributes to public discourse via The Conversation.

Teaching: Courses include the MSc Advancing Clinical Practice and modules on Contemporary Issues in Advancing Practice. She designs primary care career pathways for nurses, funded by NHS England.

Research & Projects: Current initiatives include the South Yorkshire Primary Care Innovation Centre (VR training) and evaluations of workforce development programs. Past work includes assessing the Roald Dahl Specialist Nurse role and GPN training schemes.

Professional Activities: Member of the UK Academy of Advanced Practice Research, reviewer for BMC Primary Care and Nurse Education Today. Her work critiques systemic issues in healthcare governance and nurse career pathways.
