Robin Kowalski

Dr. Robin Kowalski is a Centennial Professor of Psychology at Clemson University's College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (1990), an M.A. in Psychology from Wake Forest (1987), and a B.A. in Psychology from Furman University (1985). Her research focuses on aversive interpersonal behaviors, particularly cyberbullying, and psychological mattering. She teaches courses including Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, and Health Psychology.

Dr. Kowalski has authored/co-authored numerous books on bullying and cyberbullying, including Cyberbullying: Bullying in the Digital Age. She has received awards such as the Clemson University Award of Distinction and recognition as one of the Princeton Review's '300 Best Professors.' Her work explores cyberbullying's impact on mental health, academic performance, and societal outcomes, with recent focus on school shootings, workplace bullying, and pandemic-related behavioral changes.

Her research extends to prevention strategies, disability-inclusive approaches, and the role of technology in bullying. She collaborates on interdisciplinary projects addressing cyberbullying across contexts (schools, workplaces, romantic relationships) and age groups. Notable contributions include analyzing cyberbullying's psychological consequences, racial disparities in victimization, and the protective role of psychological mattering.

Awards include the Provost Award for Excellence in Teaching (2021) and recognition for mentoring. She actively engages with media and policy discussions, emphasizing education, supervision, and anonymous reporting systems to combat cyberbullying.
