Robin Hickey is a Professor of Law at Queen's University Belfast's School of Law, where he serves as Dean of Education for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (since 2021) and previously headed the School of Law (2016–2021). His research specializes in property law theory, obligations, and criminal law, addressing global challenges like modern slavery, cultural heritage restoration, and food waste. He was a finalist for the 2011 Inner Temple Book Prize and is an Honorary Academic Member of the Property Bar Association.

Hickey's work explores foundational concepts of ownership and possession, with applications in:
