Robin Frisch is a Research Fellow at the University of Bayreuth, specializing in Monetary History and Social History. Their work focuses on the socio-political dimensions of colonial currency systems in West Africa.

- Key Research: History of the CFA Franc, colonial statehood, and monetary sovereignty during decolonization
Their current project examines French colonial money across three phases (1900–1918, post-WWI mandate period, and decolonization era), highlighting institutional shifts, diplomatic alternatives (e.g., Sylvanus Olympio’s currency plans), and ideological tensions between conservative/radical nationalism in Cameroon (UPC) and Mali (Modibo Keita).
