Catherine Kiprop

Prof. Catherine Kiprop is an Associate Professor of Educational Management and Leadership at Moi University, Kenya. She holds a PhD from Nelson Mandela University, a Master’s from Egerton University, and a B.ED (Arts) from Moi University. Currently serving as Director of the Institute of Gender, Diversity and Peace Studies (IGDPS), she also chairs the Gender and Diversity Officer role in the Moi African Cluster Centre (Moi-ACC). Her academic career began in 2008 as a lecturer at Moi University, where she has held roles including Postgraduate Coordinator, Graduate Studies Committee member, and Curriculum Review Committee member.

She has led projects addressing sexual misconduct in institutions and women’s leadership in Kenya. Her publications examine institutional culture, female teacher leadership, and socio-cultural influences in education.

Community engagement includes Board memberships in Kenyan secondary schools and participation in initiatives like the American Embassy-funded ‘Young Women in Leadership’ project. She co-edited a seminal book on African perspectives in school leadership and governance.
