Robin D. Moore is a Professor of Ethnomusicology at the University of Texas at Austin. He has served as editor of the Latin American Music Review since 2005 and holds academic affiliations within the Department of Music. His research focuses on music and race, music curriculum reform, and the music of Cuba and Latin America. Moore has received prestigious fellowships from the ACLS, Rockefeller Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, and National Humanities Center.
Education includes a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and MA and BA degrees from UC Santa Barbara. His publications span books such as Music and Revolution: Cultural Change in Socialist Cuba (2006) and Danzón: Circum-Caribbean Dialogues in Music and Dance (2013). Recent articles address topics like the Cuban Son, transculturation, and ethnomusicology's role in higher education.
