Roberto Reid is a Lecturer in Sport Management at the University of East London's Institute of Hospitality and Tourism (IoHT), affiliated with the Department of Innovation and Management in the School of Health Sport and Bioscience. He joined UEL in 2020 and is nearing completion of his doctoral studies focused on barriers to participation in esports among recreational and elite players. His research explores esports fandom, blockchain technology's role in sports, and gender dynamics within esports engagement.

- Professional Experience: Over 13 years as a sports and media consultant, organizing major combat sports events like the world's largest amateur MMA tournament and the 2016 IMMAF World Championships in Las Vegas.
His academic contributions include advancing understanding of esports ecosystems through interdisciplinary approaches combining technology, sociology, and sports management. He holds a Fellowship from Advance HE, recognizing his commitment to higher education innovation.
