MARTIN MULKERRINS

MARTIN MULKERRINS is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of KINESIOLOGY AND SPORT MANAGEMENT at Texas A&M University. He also serves as the Head Coach of the TAMU Handball Club, which actively participates in national tournaments and practices at the Student Recreation Center. His academic background includes a B.S. in Animal and Crop Production (2015) and an M.S. in Agricultural Innovation Support (2017), both from University College Dublin.

His research interests span agricultural innovation, dairy farm management, and sustainable agriculture, with notable work on compact calving systems and monitor farm programs in Ireland. He also focuses on sports management, particularly handball coaching and collegiate development. Recent publications explore topics like digital knowledge exchange in agriculture and mental wellbeing among young farmers.

Dr. Mulkerrins is a highly decorated handball player, holding titles such as World 4-Wall Singles Champion (2023), U.S. National Champion (2023), and Captain of Team Ireland (2018 World Championships). He actively contributes to handball development through roles in the United States Handball Association Collegiate Development Committee and the GAA Handball Games Development Committee.

His teaching portfolio includes courses like Handball - Beginning and Racquetball - Beginning. His awards reflect both academic and athletic excellence, including the University College Dublin Sports Personality of the Year (2012/2013) and multiple national and international handball accolades.
