معرفی
Roberto Graglia is a Full Professor at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) at the Polytechnic of Turin, Italy. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago (1983) and graduated Summa Cum Laude in Electronics Engineering (1979) from Turin Polytechnic.
- 1980–1981: Project & Test Engineer at CSELT, Italy
- 1981–1983: Teaching and Research Assistant at University of Illinois at Chicago
- 1985–1992: Principal Researcher at CESPA-CNR, Turin
- 1992–1999: Associate Professor at Polytechnic of Turin
- 1999–Present: Full Professor at Polytechnic of Turin
His research focuses on Computational Electromagnetics, particularly high-order finite methods, method of moments, and numerical modeling of electromagnetic interactions with complex media. He has contributed to antenna design, radar cross-section analysis, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Key article trends include advanced numerical techniques for singular integrals, hierarchical vector bases, and scattering phenomena in anisotropic/bianisotropic materials. Subfields span finite element methods, Gauss quadrature precision, sharp-wedge structures, and high-frequency computational models.
- 2021: Harrington–Mittra Computational Electromagnetics Award
- 1998: IEEE Life Fellow
- 2009–2012: IEEE Distinguished Lecturer
- Editorial roles: IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, Electromagnetics
He has led national research projects (PRIN, FIRB) on electromagnetic modeling of hidden objects and singular field expansions. As General Chairperson of the International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA) since 1999, he oversees program committees for multiple conferences.
